Rev. Richard Blount
Pastor Richard Blount is a husband, a father of four, and an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church. He has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Alabama, and a Masters of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary. Pastor Richard took his first appointment in 2011 and served churches in Stanly and Davidson Counties in North Carolina. God’s call on his life has been to strengthen the ministries of the churches where he serves and to leave them healthier and stronger than when he arrived. Pastor Richard and his family came to Weaverville UMC July 1st of 2022. The Blounts have an orange tabby named Milo and a yellow English Labrador named Maggie.
Five Facts about Pastor Richard: 1. He loves God and spending time with his family. 2. He blows off steam by drawing and painting and walking their dog, Maggie. 3. He enjoys Alabama football. 4. His favorite movies are Star Wars, The Blues Brothers, The Lord of the Rings, National Treasure, and Pirates of the Caribbean (the original three). 5. His favorite candies are Raisinets, Skittles, and Reese’s cups.
