Music The Music Ministry of Weaverville UMC seeks to praise God through the gift of music.Choirs and instrumentalists offer a variety of selections ranging from contemporary to classical to gospel. Our music program includes a chancel choir, bell/chime choir, brass quintet, men's quartet, and various vocal or instrumental soloists and groups. If you enjoy music and have the gift of music, we would love to have you speak with our Musical Director.
In our services, we sing from two books located in the pews: The United Methodist Hymnal includes hymns from Christianity's rich heritage of music, with both classical sounds and lyrics to more contemporary songs. The hymnal also includes other resources for our worship, including rites for baptism, communion, weddings and funerals. Another book in the pew rack is a supplement to the hymnal called The Faith We Sing. It contains additional hymns and songs, especially some which are simple to sing and were composed in recent years.
We enjoy the music of our pipe organ and piano, which accompany our singing and choral music. We often add other instruments to our worship, including guitars, drums, trumpets, trombones and hand bells. Perhaps you have a music talent to share?
Choir Presentations on YoutubeIt took a while in coming, but technology and volunteers have placed many of our choral and bell anthems on Youtube. This will be an ongoing project, so be sure to check back often. The Youtube link is http://www.youtube.com/WeavervilleUMC. Or if you get to Youtube and don't know how to find us, search for WeavervilleUMC.

The 'Hand Bell Choir' performs about once a month and often lends support to the chancel choir on church holidays. Each ringer handles a selection of bells and chimes helping to create the unique sound of a bell choir. They usually rehearse for an hour on Wednesdays at 6:00 pm in the sanctuary.
