Preschool

Under the direction and teaching of Holly Leavitt, our preschool offers a quality experience for 3 and 4 year-old children. With a class for 3’s and a class for 4’s, the preschool is in session from August through May. Classes meet Monday through Thursday for a half-day, with tuition payable monthly.

Lessons and play-time help children understand themselves as part of God’s amazing world, with each of them being a unique and special child with talents and gifts to share. Pre-Kindergarten skills are also part of the agenda, with hands-on activities that teach through the children’s natural excitement and energy.

Registration is held in the spring for the following school year. Call the church office at 645-6721 in February for more information. A church preschool committee helps oversee the program. Children from both our church and the community are welcome to the preschool! For more information, you may email us.

From Holly Leavitt: Director

“Weaverville United Methodist Preschool is now my home. I’m the director of the Preschool, but more than that I am also a teacher. I joined the Preschool staff in 1998 as the four-year old lead teacher. A transfer by my husband’s company brought us to the beautiful Asheville area from Lansing, Michigan. Our family adjusted quickly to the mountains. Although I left behind a day care business in my home, little would I know that God was leading me to another opportunity to serve children. My youngest child Justin was enrolled in the program in 1997. I was impressed so much by the program I knew I wanted to be part of it. Hence, thirteen school years later, I’m still excited to be allowed to serve as a teacher here.

“The program is a high energy, hands-on Christian-based school. A typical day will consist of pre-K skills, art, Bible, music, stories, centers and discovery. We invite anyone who would like to share a talent with the three or four-year-old classes to visit us.

“The preschool staff and support committee are to be commended for their constant love and care of the children. With teacher prayer every morning, involved staff, and God’s Grace, we are welcoming another great year!”
