Mission Projects

At Weavervillle UMC, our motto is Serving God by Serving Others.

Mission work is a critical component to living out our faith.  Members of WUMC do unto others in a wide variety of ways.  These are just a few of the mission projects we support.

  • Kairos Ministry
A lay-led, interdenominational Christian ministry in which men and women volunteers bring Christ’s love and forgiveness to prisoners and their families.
  • Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry (ABCCM)
One of the key non-profit organizations addressing poverty, hunger, homelessness and access to health care for the under-served in Buncombe County, serving annually around 50,000.
  • Room In The Inn
Provides programs that emphasize human development and recovery through education, self-help and work, centered in community and long term support for those who call the streets of Nashville home.
  • Craft Bazaar
In the fall of every year, the church sponsors a large, on-site craft bazaar where many local artisans sell their handcrafts. Media includes jewelry, woodworking, sewing, paper art, stained glass, and more. There is also a food court with hearty lunch fare, snacks, and drinks available.
  • Weaverville Senior Meal Site
The Weaverville Senior Dining & Wellness Program meets each weekday from 9am – 1:00 pm at First Baptist Church, Weaverville.  Our Seniors participate in a variety of activities and have lunch each day. It is a great way to socialize and fellowship with one another.
